Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine is one of the oldest art museums in the country, founded in 1923 within the legendary artistic association Berezil Artistic Association, led by the renowned theatre director and reformer Les Kurbas. From its first exhibits — photographs, posters, and stage sketches — the museum grew into a major cultural institution preserving the history of Ukrainian theatre, music, and cinema.
Its collections were formed thanks to outstanding theatre scholars, artists, and actors, and today the museum holds unique archives that trace the development of Ukrainian performing arts from the traditional vertep to the present day.
Today, the museum serves as an important center for the study and popularization of Ukrainian culture. Its permanent exhibitions include materials dedicated to the work of Les Kurbas, the great pioneers of Ukrainian theatre, and a collection of folk musical instruments from the 18th–20th centuries.
A special atmosphere is created through exhibitions designed according to a narrative and visual concept, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the aesthetics of different historical periods. The museum not only preserves the memory of outstanding cultural figures, but also continues to function as a living space for cultural dialogue and inspiration.
