The Salyut Hotel is one of the most recognizable buildings in Pechersk, built in 1984 according to the design of architect Avraam Miletskyi by order of the State Planning Committee of Ukraine. An interesting fact: the initial design envisaged a building five floors higher, but the party leadership did not approve it. Despite this, the “truncated” version retained the characteristic spirit of Soviet futurism – the unusual silhouette of the hotel is still recognizable in the city panorama and is considered one of the symbols of Kyiv.
The location of the hotel is successful from any point of view: it stands on Pechersk Hill, next to the park on Slavy Square, from where panoramic views of the Dnieper and green slopes open. Nearby is the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, a monument to the Motherland and the entire ensemble that makes this corner of Kyiv special. The hotel still welcomes guests today – 89 rooms with views that in themselves are already part of the impression of the city.
